Kriz finds himself born into a musical family where music was the order of day. At 8 years old, his dad being an electronic engineer built a synthesizer from scratch which became his companion for many years. This is where he learnt music synthesis which led to 30 years + of music synthesis and sound designing. At 13 years old his dad built him a DJ mixer which set the stage for an exploration into the world of Jockeying Discs. Producing music as ---Ӝ LIVING THEORY Ӝ ---and playing that music as☼ K-R-I-Z-Z-O-L-O-G-Y ☼has been the highlight throughout his life. Kriz has played the Club and so call Rave circuit back in the days in South Africa, when those who were from the underground explored fathomless frequencies, feeling the first tinglings of what the electronic dance culture was going to bring and dancing as though their lives depended on it. He doesn’t feel the need to elucidate on all the venues as well as the DJ’s he has played with as it does not define who he is. What defines him is, "the journey he creates from beginning to end on the dance floor", he says. It has always been about the journey, he proclaims. Starting slow and building up to a sonic orgasm is the key to his sets which encompasses beautiful grooves and melodies in between tight electronic beats to get you to the climax. In addition to him being a career airline pilot, Kriz consistently affirms that like flying, the producing and playing of music is all about respecting the art making gentle twists and turns along with subtle movements in groove which subsequently affects a noticeable change. His motto either when producing or playing music is that if he can get himself into the space between the music, then he has achieved much, for it is there in that space that the artist can manipulate the groove to enable the dancers to shake their bodies in unison as he playfully and cunningly sets the pace. “It is as if I plugged myself into a creative source and let what comes flow through me”, he cheerfully says.
